Avantages :

The efforts to fully integrate MyCase with other platforms and the continued efforts of the MyCase staff to provide more functions at the request of its users is the thing I enjoy most about MyCase.

Inconvénients :

The reports could be easier to follow/understand. It seems all the reports would be related, but it gets confusing.

Easy and Efficient Case Management

Commentaires : I began using MyCase when it was relatively young. As a result it has been easy to master each new feature as it has been introduced. Tech support is responsive and helpful when needed. MyCase continues to add features based on input and suggestions from users and there seems to be a focus on staying current and relevant to demands of law office management.

Avantages :

From the beginning, it was easy to use, and as it has evolved, it remains user friendly. It eliminates the need for a paper file. One of the best features is that clients have access to their case, documents, calendar, billing and to their attorney. The messaging function eliminates voice messages and most phone calls. Clients can leave questions at any time of day or night and will have a documented answer without telephone tag. Overall case management is significantly more efficient than paper files.

Inconvénients :

The creation of Automated documents has been disappointing. The feature exists but is not as user friendly as the rest of the software. The recent integration with Dropbox is confusing as well but I suppose that may be my lack of familiarity with how it functions.

Avantages :

I have been a user of MyCase for about 10 years now. I like how user-friendly the platform is; the look, the feel, are very intuitive. It also has space for tons of useful information regarding your case; a one stop shop! The document automation part of the program saves me quite a bit of time, and so does the streamlined billing and invoicing process, which require almost no learning curve. The ability to electronically sign documents through MyCase is one of the best improvements I have seen throughout the years.

Inconvénients :

I would love to have the ability to text through MyCase... but by using my firm's phone number. The calendar sync with Google calendars is good, but has had bugs resulting in duplicates, etc. Also, the email part of the program also has had some bugs, it's not that user-friendly, so I've chosen not to use it. I would love it if MyCase could include a court holiday calculator free of charge. It's just not worth the expense of paying for integration with another program, when you can find good, accurate calculations online for free.

They Hold Your Data Hostage

Commentaires : Would work fine for a small civil firm. Does not work for criminal prosecution, and the company is unresponsive to client feedback.

Avantages :

We tried MyCase for our case management software because it was economical and web-based.

Inconvénients :

Even though they said it would work, it really isn't designed for the unique workflow of prosecuting crime. Also, they are not responsive to client feedback, and when you try to leave they will not allow you to download your documents with their file numbers in bulk, but make you download one document at a time unless you pay them an additional fee. In essence, they hold your data hostage if you ever try to cancel.

A Must Have Legal Practice Software

Commentaires : I think this is a great product. Before MyCase I didn't have anything in place. I did use FileCenter to help keep my files organized in one place, however once I got my Mac they were not compatible. So when I tried MyCase on a trial period I realized that it would help my practice run a little smoother. Over the years with the added features, I am able to better communicate with my clients, keep files organized and bill my clients without issues. Overall this is a great law practice management software.

Avantages :

I really like the portal aspect of the software. I am able to put everything under a client's file and can choose what I share with the client. Using the portal is a way to ensure that emails or documents do not get lost. MyCase is constantly improving. Now they have added a text feature. They also integrate with other systems for ease of use in managing your practice. I also like the invoicing and billing aspect. Once invoiced the client can pay directly from the invoice either through the portal or from the email that indicates they have a bill that is due. You can even use it for consultation fees even before you open up a file for the client.I was able to easily adapt to using this software and as they add new features it makes operating my practice easier.

Inconvénients :

Even after almost ten years of using this software, I am still learning. I would definitely say take the time to get familiar with all the features. They have many articles that help you learn the product and if that still doesn't help you can always call customer service. I have had to do that a few times and they were alway courteous and helpful. I wouldn't say I have any cons except the cost of the software has increased several times since my initial start. I guess that is to be expected. I will say that over the years they have increased the features as well.

Billing and case management features at a reasonable costs

Commentaires : Primarily, I am able to send out monthly invoices to client and spend no more than an hour monthly to get that done.

Avantages :

I use MyCase primarily for time keeping on files and invoicing clients. The invoices are easy to compile and send out and the cost of the program each month is mopre than made up in payments received from clients. Also, there is no need to send out invoices by mail.

Inconvénients :

I would prefer an email feature integrated with Microsoft Outlook.

Essential tool for practice management

It doesn't integrate well well with other programs. Only downside for us is having to manually enter information in our CRM system

Great program

Commentaires : It has been easy to use and the price is descent. The price was much better but they recently raised the prices.

Avantages :

User friendly. Billing in the program is very easy once you set up the case information. Setting up case information is a little confusing but once you get past that part is so easy to use and will allow you to enter your time. I wish they had an app where you can enter billing.

Inconvénients :

Inputing a cases is not intuitive. You need to go to different screens to enter the client information which is inconvenient. They should have all the client information entering on one page.

Commentaires : MyCase has been a wonderful tool for our firm. It allows for a more digital experience for both users and clients. MyCase is always updating to stay ahead of the current trends and needs, and they never take a long time to correct issues when they are reported. I love the MyCase staff which is always helpful and willing to explain things so we better understand why or why not something is the way it is. I will be happy telling others of the useful and customization features within MyCase. The support staff and product managers are always willing to help and take suggestions, which they tend to implement if they can. I have had a ton of ideas implemented which makes our daily activities easier. Overall, this software is pretty user friendly, high ability to customize a lot of areas, an all in one type of feel and beneficial for any office looking to go more digital.

Avantages :

What I love the most about this software is that it's always updating features and areas of needed interest. I love that the MyCase team is always there to take a concern, suggestion or edit that may be needed or wanted. I love that it's ALMOST an all in one system. I love that you can do customizing within the software on the end user side as well, without having to contact MyCase for most of them. I love that this is easy to learn, use and contact support. I love that MyCase is always willing to update to stay current.

Inconvénients :

What I like least about this software is the inability to filter OPEN and CLOSED cases in the Trust Account Activity and Trust Account Summary. We use this section for a quick check on which cases has a balance and which cases don't, but it shows EVERY case we have in MyCase without a way to filter out Closed. We have far too many cases open to check one by one. I also like least about this software that you have to request engineering to re-add Contact Groups that you delete, when it was added by the end user in the first place. An accidental delete of a contact group takes too much involvement to have re-added and we end up creating new ones. I also like least about this software that the App and the Desktop version are so much different in a few areas that are used most in our office.

Commentaires : It is a great software for the price. However, when it comes to software, it should either be right or it is wrong. This is not like a hamburger where a McDonald's hamburger is great for the price. For law, you need a steak burger.

Avantages :

The software does the billing and case management ok. The price point is very good for this product. The customer support is one of the best I have experienced. They are constantly making improvements to the software. Calendaring software works well. The payment of invoices is seamless. This works perfectly.

Inconvénients :

The software lacks a few features. For example, you have to manually bill each and every client. Also, if you have over 100 clients, then I am not sure how you keep track of invoicing them. Here are a few basic items that I think are important but are lacking: You can not set a minimum balance for a client that automatically goes on the bill. You cannot apply payments to one particular case. It gets applied to the client, not the case. Money is paid or requested by client. So, a client with multiple cases, is an issue. Drafting of documents is horrible. It controls fonts and layouts and is just bad. I use it to merge and then use Word to fix it up.

MyCase is the great equalizer

Commentaires : I think MyCase is wonderful. I love its presentation, very cheerful. But it covers all your bases as a lawyer. It is a powerful tool. I would be lost without it.

Avantages :

It is very easy to use and is comprehensive in scope. It allows small law firms to have a 'big law firm' systems without the big fees.

Inconvénients :

When sending a message to another party via MyCase one is unable to click on another MyCase tab, like the calendar for example, without losing what you have typed. (But knowing MyCase they will fix this--they are quick to respond to new ideas for implementation)

MyCase has made my practice workable with minimal staff and monetary investment

Commentaires : I am able to work at home and at locations and times convenient to clients; I can offer work-at-home opportunities to staff; storage is no longer an issue since my office is almost entirely "paperless"; I have been able to reduce the number of support staff; the return calls I have to make has been greatly reduced because there is no longer a need to locate files and contact others to ensure everything is up to date; I have an efficient means of tailoring case management based on the type of case or client

Avantages :

--I am able to access and update my entire case files from anywhere; --my staff can view the same information I am, when I am away from the office --it is easy to adjust to the specific requirements of my practice; for example, I can set up a "case" for all my administrative information ("Office Admin, 2018"), including documents, time, and expenses

Inconvénients :

--the software allows firm specific information to be input, but is limited on its usefulness; for example, I have a field for travel time as part of a time entry, but the invoice only shows the total time --the inability to store documents with a contact as opposed to a case; for example, I use a particular therapist on multiple cases but I cannot attach her resume to her contact information; to be rapidly accessible, I must store the same document with every case --the calendar can only be printed in an agenda format; to print monthly or weekly views, I must go outside the software to a sync'd calendar

Commentaires : Great product. Seems the focus is on other areas besides client connection when client communication and connection is the best part of the entire program.
Streamling

Avantages :

Ease of use. App. Interface. Design. Client communication and ease of billing.

Inconvénients :

Costly, no auto responses capability in communications. So, if I'm not available or out of town and a client messages me, it could be a week before there is a response. Also, if a client messages my legal assistant, that message doesn't show up under my messages. All messages from that client to any in the firm should be able to be seen by all.

MyCase Review

Commentaires : Overall, MyCase is a great program to use. It's fairly user friendly and easy to integrate into your firm as a new system. Its also easy to explain to a new employee to use. It could have a few additional features that would take it to the next level, and hopefully they will get there soon.

Avantages :

MyCase has a solid product. Their Customer Service team is fantastic. We had a really old billing program and they transferred all of my data and set up my new client files. The software is very easy to use overall. They have a few minor items that they could improve to make it even more robust, but overall, it gets the job done. The best thing about the software is the ease of inputting billing and expenses and the DocuSign feature is amazing.

Inconvénients :

The things I like least are that on the Expenses tab, they do not have a box that tells you the Total Expenses. You have to go to an entirely different tab to get the total Expenses. That makes ZERO sense. I have asked them to fix this issue at least 27 times to no avail so far.In addition, their MyCaseDrive is a great feature, but its cost prohibitive to add on. I wish it was integrated already in the package.

Customer Service is now non-existant!

Commentaires : I used to LOVE myCase and was a loyal recommender for several years. The program was everything I needed for my growing practice UNTIL about six months ago when the company eliminated the call-in feature and added the chat function. There is now no help or customer service to speak of. The program is getting more and more glitchy - ie sometimes things will save and sometimes it wont. This is a big problem when inputting data for migration to legal forms later.
So disappointed. This used to be a great one.

Avantages :

The cost cant be beat - if the company responds to customer service complaints The functionality of the program is good and had potential to be great - until the support functions went away - and along with that the best customer support specialists. The billing and invoicing program is easy to use.

Inconvénients :

Customer support is now only available via chat. The agents are no longer knowledgable. The function to submit a question does not result in any feedback at all. The program is now getting glitchy and the newest update is just terrible looking and terrible functionally.

Commentaires : Use for all billing and time keeping. Remote/on-line payments have been a great benefit for my company.

Avantages :

That they are constantly improving and adding to the product. Customer support has been great at answering question.

More flexibility for types of bills that one can produce; ability to print "pre-bills" or draft bills to review before finalizing.

MyCase is good for the small or solo lawfirm

Commentaires : We have tried many legal organization and calendar programs. MyCase is very easy to use and basic. Our Firm primarily uses the calendar to keep the consults, deadlines, court schedules for each attorney. The tasks are useful for myself, and I can set up due dates and keep track of what I have to do. I also put payment plan dates in there to remind me to call a client if they have not made payment. We also use the billing feature to make our invoices look better. The way mycase keeps track of incoming money isn't the best or most accurate. For example when we bill out expenses, it still shows as income. Also, when you deposit something into the Trust account in mycase, and use those funds to pay an invoice, there are some quirks. We do not use the "trust account" feature to keep track of the real IOLTA account at all. Everything is very easy to use and someone who isnt tech savvy can catch on easily as well. During the use of it, we found that the name of the event you are putting in you have to list a clients first, last name and it needs to be spelled correctly, or you can not search for it in the search bar. Even if you link a calendar event to a case, it wont show up in the search bar. We do not use the message feature or document feature, we also do not allow our clients access to their online case. We just use the program for our internal use only. Overall I would recommend this to most law firms. Our Firm has grown from 1 attorney and 2 support staff to 4 attorneys and 5 support staff. So the monthly price of the program is starting to not be affordable for a calendar program.

MyCase gets the job done well!

Commentaires : Overall, MyCase is a solid case management software! It has many bells and whistles that other programs do not have, but the user-interface could use some work.

Avantages :

MyCase is a wonderful all-in-one case management software that makes keeping things in one place a breeze! There are so many different functions within the program, like being able to send email and SMS confirmations to client for meetings, being able to share documents with them, and even being able to take payments directly through MyCase. We probably use the built-in Templates feature the most, it's so nice to be able to auto-generate a document in seconds.

Inconvénients :

The thing that I like the least about MyCase is how my personal calendar and our shared firm calendar don't always seem to sync well. Oftentimes things will be on mine that don't show on others, or vice-versa.

Commentaires : We have been very happy with MyCase and are now on year 7 with the product. We are able to generate documents, track and collect payments, and correspond in numerous ways directly with our clients. It has greatly improved the productivity of our small firm.

The efforts to fully integrate MyCase with other platforms and the continued efforts of the MyCase staff to provide more functions at the request of its users is the thing I enjoy most about MyCase. It is definitely not a static product.

Inconvénients :

The thing liked the least is there is a bit of a learning curve on some functions.

Avantages :

Incredibly easy to set up and use. Our new employees learn the program immediately. The calendar system is excellent. Invoices are usually easy to create and forward to clients.

Inconvénients :

The interplay between trust and regular checking accounts is unnecessarily complicated. Mycase needs to institute a system for split billing, for example, for guardian ad litem cases where a total bill is divided between two parties. Further, there are odd and unnecessary restrictions completing reports.

Commentaires : Streamlines case management, makes communication with clients easier, makes exchange of documents (especially sensitive or voluminous ones) simple and secure.

Avantages :

I like that they are continually adding/improving based on client feedback. Workflows are a huge time saver. I like the ease of sharing things with clients and opposing counsel securely.

Inconvénients :

I would very much like to be able to mark documents as read in small batches, say just those pertaining to a certain case, or just those in a current view. There are times when I have a lot of documents to mark as read, but many of them are things that I have already read and dealt with in hard copy, and they are being uploaded for the client. Having to click into each one to mark it as read consumes a lot of time.

Commentaires : Great life style changer! Gives you a lot of time back, administratively and lawyering.

Avantages :

Client Communication is phenomenal in the form of email in one place for each client. The cloud features easily allows you share documents drafted in house and any scanned portion of the client's file. Client can pay invoice electronically and accounting of remaining balance kept automatically. Keeps track of customized client payment plans and sends auto reminders. Calendar and task reminders for you and your clients makes it more efficient to practice especially as a solo practioner.

We do offer ACH payment options for your clients if your firm uses MyCase Payments. Today, we only support credit card as a payment method for your MyCase subscription, since it is a recurring subscription service.
