Best overall Service/Project Software on the Market

Commentaires : It has saved us money overall by bringing all employees into the same software program eliminating unnecessary phone calls and conversations internally to determine job status, order status, etc. Customer service is amazing from the training, hand holding during implementation and customer support after the sale. simPRO believes in relationships with their clients. They don't sell you then disappear.

Avantages :

simPRO allowed us to bring all of our employees together into one software package from lead to quote to job management to invoicing and receiving payments. It even tracks field personnel time. This allowed us to cancel several other software programs that we were using and got everybody on the same page saving time which saves money.

Inconvénients :

It takes some time to learn all the nuances of the program to become fluent in "simPROese".

Excellent Product & Support

Commentaires : From the first contact with Simpro, they were excellent. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who was great, came to see us and showed us what it could do for us, so having to consider very carefully following a failed software implementation with another provider, we decided to proceed with them. They weren't the cheapest but we got a good feel for the company and we haven't been disappointed. It wasn't an easy task transferring our data to Simpro and was very time consuming but has been completely worth it now it's up and running.

Avantages :

It's very user friendly and just works for our business

Inconvénients :

Occasionally we find there is no fix for something we want to change to suit our needs but there is usually a way around it and support are very helpful with suggestions. I am able to submit suggestions to a forum in which they consider putting changes in place if they can.

Avantages :

Able to build an inventory with cost and man hours for estimating.

Inconvénients :

Difficult to customize and inflexible.Reports are not consistent.Bookkeeper HATES it.Taxes aren't displayed on invoices in a way that makes sense and are not separated for PST and GST.Invoices have layout and wording that confuses people and staff.Strange names for address info for site vs customer billing.Mobile app won't auto save, causing much data to be lost if app doesn't recognize a button press or interrupting in the middle of an entry and lost when app selected again, even if still open. Initial training had many holes and caused a lot of stumbling and frustration through the whole process.Continued training is more expensive than hiring a 90 ton crane with an operator.Imports of materials and client lists is often incomplete.

Commentaires : Overall, this has been an amazing experience for us. The software feels like just what the doctor ordered and we are very happy with the choice. The simPRO team has been rock solid, supportive, knowledgeable, and fun to work with from day 1.

Avantages :

When it comes to field service management this is custom software which is hard to beat. simPRO is bringing a new level and caliber of organization and efficiency to our business and we are still implementing all that it offers. Our field techs now have vastly more relevant information at their fingertips than ever before which is empowering them to be more productive, efficient, and professional.

Inconvénients :

There are a few confusing aspects of the contacts database and how it relates and connects to jobs, quotes, customers, etc. There are a number of static fields which do not populate from the existing customer database when it seems they should. For instance, if we have an existing contact, we can not simply lookup and connect it to a site contact or invoice contact without some hoops and hurdles.

Commentaires : SimPRO is a great tool to use for the type of business we operate. It helps us manage material and labor costs very effectively. Once you are properly trained and understand how the system works, preparing quotes is quick and the documents are professional looking.

Avantages :

Job costing is an important concern for us and SimPRO does an excellent job of tracking job costs. We are hoping for continual development in the ease of use for tracking labor and time on the job, but overall, SimPRO does a great job of job cost management.

Inconvénients :

Seems clunky and non-intuitive at first and training from SimPRO after the initial roll out is not complimentary and quite costly. Also, there are some features that I wish could be improved, such as contract / agreement integration and a more intuitive way to find / locate jobs on the fly using the mobile app. I am looking forward to the rollout of the new SimPRO Mobile app, which may address the later concern.

Commentaires : The software has really improved the overall functionality of our business as a whole. There are flaws in the simPRO Enterprise software... but I would still say that it is the best software for our business, that I could see. We tried many other software packages... and none of them had as many features and worked as well with our workflow.

Avantages :

The workflow in simPRO is quite comprehensive and yet logical. We love the ability to turn a lead into a quote... then track it into a job, and to an invoice and payment. The fact that our staff can login to the software anywhere in the world makes working on the road so easy. Quoting in simPRO can be easy and straightforward when the software is set up properly. The simPRO Mobile App is logical and easy for our technicians to add time and materials to in the field. The ability to easily add photos and attachments to the job is a nice feature. Also, tracking asset information and test readings is another great feature. Invoicing is logical and fairly easy. Taking payments and giving credit memos is also very easy to do. Inventory management, purchase orders, vendor receipts and vendor invoices are all handled quite well. We struggle keeping up with our vendor receipts, but we like the workflow. We also like the project management aspect of the software.

Inconvénients :

Learning the software was hard for a lot of our employees. Although the software is logical, it's not always straightforward to do certain tasks. Because simPRO is such a global software, certain features do not always translate to Canadian business practice. We find the inventory management part of the software to be a little overwhelming.... and adding/removing parts on work orders can be hard.

Avantages :

They are continuously improving and updating simPRO. In comparison to other similar programs I've tried, it's not all pretty bells & whistles, it's bells & whistles with tangible depth and detail.

Inconvénients :

The implementation seemed cumbersome initially, but absolutely essential given the range of the software. The training was excellent and the customer service/help-desk is great.

Good software for Service based Trades

Commentaires : I had used it briefly, then went another route due to some "must haves" I had with the mobile app.
The mobile app has since come a long way and appears to have become much more usable for field techs.

Avantages :

With my employees being in the field and primarily using the mobile, it's nice to have a "mobile only" license for them. Other companies require everyone to have a full license which, in my opinion, is a waste since they won't use 10% of what that entails

Inconvénients :

Mandatory on-site setup and no ability to have a trial instance

Customer Service is horrible, lots of broken promises.

Commentaires : Our experience with Simpro started out great. The sales person promised us the world and we bought in. The onboarding process was partially hampered by Covid so the whole process was done online. We worked our way though that and started to use the program. We even switched our accounting software to one that was compatible with their system. A lot of the features that they promised to be seamless were not and I kept getting told that it would get better and that they would work on it. The tax features were not compatible in Canada, even though we were assured numerous times that they were and when they finally admitted that they weren't they promised they would fix the issues. We limped along with the software for about 6 months all the while being promised that the issues were being fixed. During this time we saw a definite drop in revenue, that corrected itself when we cancelled the software. We eventually got in contact with upper management, they promised to work with us and make things right. Unfortunately that is all it was, promises that were never followed through on. After cancelling Simpro we were promised that they would keep in contact and even potentially talk about refunding some money. From that point on they refused to reply to emails or phone calls. Stay away. They only care about collecting your money and will say whatever they need to to do this.

Avantages :

The Quote features and catalogue worked well.

Inconvénients :

Time entering, looking back on jobs, live time costing

The best software I ever got, been using a year and has transformed my business.

Avantages :

I have tried all of them and this is truly cloud based, it keep all my suppliers, customers, employees and subcontractors details in one place and tracks all reminders like contracts and certificates and suppliers insurances and training need. The quoting system is the best we have used and it produces great looking quotes very easily. Once you have secured a project costing a job from labour to materials and subcontractors is effortless. We use it for jobs from £75 to £5m and everyone in our business loves it. It give you complete visibility on profit and costs. We also use it to create all purchase orders, subcontract orders and everyone in the business does there time sheet on it, my payroll now takes 60 minutes as opposed most of the day. We have saved more than the cost of this software in admin costs alone, the pricing model is great as you can kick off for just £70 per month. We all invoice and raise progress applications on it and do all our debt collection. We also manage our vehicle fleet, plant and have clients who log in to give us work and also monitor their assets we maintain. It has a task feature which is average and we don't use it for project management as there are much better free online soltuions for Gantt charts etc. It is very powerful and so will seem daunting for smaller companies And technophobes, but in reality I taught my 10 year old to use it in 5 mins. I used Trimble before this.

Inconvénients :

Word processing could be slicker but there is an easy Work around. Rest of bugs they have resolved, it gets constant updates and upgrades.

Commentaires : Increased sales. Better organizing of prospects, jobs and client needs.

Avantages :

The system is very user friendly. I am able to log in all my prospects and keep an accurate record of all contacts, calls made emails sent and received. Attachments for all documents at your fingertips. Since many of my prospects have multiple sites, I can list each site with on-premises contacts for our scheduling and operations department. Nothing falls through the cracks. The training and assistance from the SimPro Staff is magnificent. SimPro professionals are outstanding. They conducted the training and made certain our team was comfortable with SimPro before leaving. For those of us who have basic technological skills, the help I received from SimPro is amazing. This is the type of staff who connects with me just to, "say hello and how are things going?" This is not too common in today's business environment. Clients are thrilled that during a meeting I can pull up Simpro and provide answers to all their questions. I recommend SimPro to anyone who is looking for a user friendly CRM that works.

Inconvénients :

I had to keep remembering to hit the save button following data input. Also, I had a bad habit of hitting the back key instead of cancel. Once I got over these it was smooth sailing.

Great experience overall! Amazing staff, especially training and support team!

Avantages :

Unlike a lot of other job management software we looked at, simPRO offers in-person training and live US support. The software itself is robust and offers plenty of functionality for our painting business, but it really comes down to the training and continued support. We looked at some cheaper options, and although training was an additional expense, it was worth every penny. Without the training, we would have been lost and unable to use the software. The trainers are great and keep training light and are knowledgeable business consultants. Highly recommend!!!

Inconvénients :

The user interface and dashboard are a bit dated, but I know the development team is working on updating in the future. Other than that, no complaints! SimPRO runs our whole painting business operations and workflows.

So many uses

Avantages :

I love being able to integrate all the processes, from my technicians time, to purchase orders, to inventory tracking, and customer asset management. Simpro offers a robust system, with more features than we will probably ever be able to use.

Inconvénients :

As our company has grown, we have had to add several users, causing what was a reasonable price to be quite expensive now. Technicians and sales app doesn't always cooperate especially in areas of poor cell service.

simPRO is good, but can be better!

Avantages :

Workflow - There is a clear process. Keeps everyone on the same page. It provides a framework and process for submitting, reviewing, approving, assigning and tracking project requests. Security - It's highly secured as far as our experience.

Inconvénients :

Invoicing flexibility - We need a proper Integration capability. Custom fields - This is limited. Dynamic Emails - It's not easy to have access to custom fields in the emails.

Best project/working orders software

Avantages :

SimPRO takes care of everything on the day to day of any project-oriented or and working order/repairs cycle.

Inconvénients :

Not super easy to use but they have a good training team. There are a lot of functionality that you will need to know. A good training process is a must.

Good software but very unflexible

Commentaires : Initial sales presentation was very good, .... the training was in depth and again good. But once we had finished the training and trying to set up the system ourselves the software is far far too complex and producing the results we want seems impossible. We genuinely feel we have been sold the software and left with it. Would i recommend this product absolutely not. Advice to any potential new customers, see exactly what you want the software to do and how it will work/look. Don't take the salesmans word it will do it. Trust me, it probably won't

The software has the potential to be very good but ....

... the forms are utterly inflexible and customer support is absolutely terrible. Communication from my so called account manager is non existent even though i have spoken to him and he knows we are having issues. I really am utterly disappointing in this product and the company. We have invested thousands of pounds and countless hours trying to set up the system, as they promise so much, but in reality they have delivered very little, and certainly for us, an unusable system. Even after we told SimPro we are considering cancelling our monthly contract we still didn't hear from our account manager or anyone else. Is this what they call customer care ?? .... or maybe its customer don't care.

I really love and like the way that you can use the functions and the tools to manage your business in a great way, I like that the graphic interface it's professional and the way that you can order your business, it's absolutely good

Inconvénients :

I don't like that some functions and tools don't have the best use, or are obsolete, because there are some functions that comply with the the use of other function.

Excellent software and customer support

Avantages :

How much money it saves me. The level of efficiency and production I have because of simPRO is remarkable. The software is used be everyone in my office.

Inconvénients :

I was looking for a complete software solution for a while before I found simPRO. The only con is that they didn't come to the US sooner.

Commentaires : It is very nice to keep our team on the same page. We can see what is done with each customer in the timeline.

I really like the way the software is laid out. Pretty easy to navigate.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes can be a little sluggish. We have been kicked offline a couple of times.

Streamlined CRM/Fleet Management

Commentaires : SimPro is a vast improvement over our previous legacy software. The support and training at the start was helpful in lessening the chaos that comes with making such a huge transition. It is perfect for certain service industries, such as electricians, general contractors, etc.

Inability to add important notes to contact record

Need to listen to your users SimPro.

Avantages :

Good general features and relatively easy to setup and use.

Inconvénients :

They take soo long to implement user suggestions, they have a forum and voting system for ideas but then take no notice of this when the do their upgrades, come on SimPro start listening to your users...

We can reassure you though that every idea submitted is reviewed by the simPRO team. Many factors go into prioritisation of development including how many users will benefit from the feature, and the knock on effects it may cause to others. simPRO has a development team dedicated solely to acting on these suggestions and in the last year alone, the team has been able to resolve over 120 ideas.
