Good carbon accounting software with one screen layout problem

Avantages :

The entire software is pretty straightforward and logical.

Inconvénients :

The interface is quite annoying when you are working on a small laptop without the extra second monitor. When you are working in the inventory on a small laptop, you can't see more than 4 rows of the inventory! Personally, I find this quite annoying. Half of the screen in the inventory is wasted to unnecessary empty space (it is just white). On a big screen this problem doesn't occur. That's why I really wanted to take my time and write this lengthy message because I am sure this is something you can fix super easy and would help a lot with the look of the interface. Especially in on a big inventory, this takes away the whole overview when you want to compare different flows and isn't efficient. Now I have to scroll back and forth all the time. I would suggest you make the heading smaller in the inventory or you work with a bar that you can expand/collapse like you did on the left green vertical navigation bar. Also horizontally it is quite annoying that I have to scroll this much, though here there isn't such an obvious quick fix... Maybe it would be a good idea to let users adjust the width of the columns themselves? That way if I wanted I could change the width of empty columns and see all the collumns on my small screen without having to scroll back and forth. Hope this was helpfull & I hope you can optimize this usage of the screen on small laptops! Thanks

Great solution for consultants

Commentaires : So far have really enjoyed using CAD, and definitely has made our jobs much easier. It's also great that we are able to help upskill our clients and empower them to be able to complete their own calculations.

Avantages :

CAD is very intuitive, and super easy to use. It also has a good variety of EFs available to use. The team are super helpful and support is quick to answer any questions. In addition, they are very open to suggestions and since starting on CAD, it has developed so much, adding in new features, with many new features already in the pipeline.

Inconvénients :

It is only easy to upload spend-based data for Cat 1. If looking to upload spend-data in other categories, this is more of a manual exercise. However, I think there is a reason for this: i.e. to promote using better, more accurate sources, i.e. activity-based data etc.

Avantages :

The easy workflow and good dashboarding overview. Additionally the automatic reports, however the ESRS-E1 report could be more elaborate.

I greatly appreciate the care with which the product is made. I have been using it for just over a year, and seeing it improve and evolve so rapidly is a testament to the constant dedication put into its development and updates. For our company, it is essential to have software that not only simplifies our work but also meets the demands of a rapidly changing market and regulatory environment. The team at Carbon + Alt + Delete has been extremely responsive to our feedback and requests for clarification, demonstrating deep expertise in GHG inventory standards and offering a range of tools and features designed to make the consultant’s job easier.

Inconvénients :

Some aspects of the front-end might need some minor refinement. There are a few bugs and inconsistencies, especially with the import function. These are minor bugs, likely stemming from the new features and integrations that still need some polishing, but nothing that can’t be fixed with a simple patch. In any case, they do not significantly disrupt the workflow. The scenarios section could be expanded further in terms of functionality, but I believe this would require a fundamental redesign of its logic. For relatively simple and standard scenario evaluations, it works well, but as it stands, it is extremely cumbersome to model granular variations at the level of individual activity data and/or emission factors. It would be beneficial to define potential evolutionary scenarios directly during the inventory phase, both for activity data and emission factors. Otherwise, Excel remains the best option for analyses at this level.

Extremely receptive platform

Commentaires : We have had a great experience with Carbon+Alt+Delete, as mentioned, they are extremely receptive to feedback and are often engaging with their users to communicate updates.

Avantages :

The platform is very self explanatory, and if there are hiccups along the way, the guides are extremely useful, and the staff are always willing to answer questions. On this theme, Kenneth and the team always listen to users' feedback to the changes that are important to them.

Inconvénients :

Allowing to customise the colours on the graphs on the dashboard would allow for more customisability, and more tailoring towards presentation for clients.

User friendly software

Commentaires : Very good experience because it's easy to use with a lot of helpful tools so the software does a lot of the work for you in the calculation and the availability of good databases.

Avantages :

The very user friendly way to use the software. It's is not too complicated to use.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes, there are small bugs such as the lines in the inventory that doesn't load and you have to wait long for some things such as imports to upload. But these are small things that are fixed now.

1) CAD is not intinutive at the beginning. 2) National databanks for energy emission factors (Germany) were missing for a long time

CAD is a great carbon calculation tool

Commentaires : Good experiences. Once you get used to the program, it is very easy to use.

Avantages :

Carbon+Alt+Delete is very easy to work with. Databases are easily accessible and the categories make an easy overview. Plus, it already alligns with the GHG agreement.

Inconvénients :

- Hard to remove a full integrated list if for instance uploaded with mistakes. - Databases recently load slower than usual

Inconvénients :

No big negatives about the tool. Some nice to haves that can still be implemented, such as links with sector-specific databases and further improvements in the uploads of large amounts of data.

Easiest and most accessible emissions calculator

Commentaires : Very good. I just love it. Lots of databases already includes and being able to customize them is a plus. We offer it to some clients and it looks like it suits them.

Avantages :

Very simple and pleasant interface, very intuitive, pleasing to the eye. Works with Excel. Benchmarking. Prices are really affordable. Contact with supporters (Javier, Kyle) really good. Customizable look and emission factors.

Inconvénients :

Non-direct matching between Excel and CAD, emission factors need to be monitored, and sometimes difficult to find. Errors during import. Need to get a report of GHG and ISO 14064.

Excellent emissions tool

Commentaires : A useful and efficient tool for collating emission data and reporting.

Avantages :

The dashboard display which can clearly show comparisons between year and year and different scope emissions. The ability to have external data uploads is really useful and reduces excess time working on projects.

Inconvénients :

Occasionally, the emission factors used are not as expected but this issue has been continuously improved by CAD.

Carbon+Alt+Delete makes organisational carbon footprinting effective and efficient

Commentaires : It has been a positive experience from initial contact, on-boarding to the software, ongoing technical support, relevant webinars to the software and related subject material and information on upcoming updates to the software (you're not sat idle).

Avantages :

Great consultant interface and linking through to client interface/s. Increased efficiency in working with clients to calculate their carbon Footprint. Useful import templates and access to databases.

Inconvénients :

For some materials/products it's not straight forward to search the databases and I've learned how to get better results over time.

Training is good but need real life experience

Commentaires : System looks good, but need to get going on a real live experience.

Avantages :

Good pace and well presented. Also liked that we were able to ask questions, and especially that "no question is a stupid question"! I thought it gave a good overview to the system.

Inconvénients :

Could have been more interactive. The problem with all these tools is that unless you actually start using them pretty much immediately, you forget. Perhaps it should be a requirement to have a live project ready to go, so that you start working in the system immediately.

A great tool for increased transparency in GHG footprinting

- Lack of advanced graphs to visualize results - Probably not the most suitable tool to automize reports writing

The platform is constantly updated and improved, which makes GHG accounting easier and easier.

Inconvénients :

There has not yet been a focus by the developers to facilitate data collection for GHG accounting which still leaves this issue with the consultancies.

The tool we need for climate change mitigation. Easy to use, intuitive and well supported.

Commentaires : You can't manage what you don't measure. So, climate change mitigation starts with an inventory of the emissions in the value chain (scope 1, 2 and 3). This already gives interesting insights in what actions that need to be taken. Simulations for reduction strategy can be done.Very useful tool. I can't imagine working without it, any more.

Commentaires : Overall a very positive experience with the software, problems have been related to finding and retrieving data from current ERP system and other sources - not software related.

Avantages :

Easy and intuitive to set up company boundaries and key in the related data: With the integration to Ecoinvent emissions factors, we have been able to report Scope 3 emissions for nearly all purchased components and materials

Would be nice to see the simulation tool developed, so the effect of plans and actions can be monitored on sub-division level

The software does not only help with the calculation itself but also with collecting data and structuring our approach. Contact with the support team has been very helpful and supportive.

Support has been excellent and always very helpful and prompt, the customer support and training has been wonderful. Very intuitive design and experience. It doesn't take a lot of time to start working with the software. The platform is in compliance with the greenhouse gas protocol.
