The BusyPaws software made it very easy to integrate with my website so that clients could continue to book even while I transitioned from a previous booking platform.

Avantages :

Love the dog profiles, the ease of adding notes, scheduling, and adding dog birthdays!

Inconvénients :

Can't integrate with square invoicing, can't integrate course with thrivecart and my evergreen funnel so still am paying for a separate program for that.

Commentaires : My main reason for choosing BusyPaws for my business is that I don't have a facility or staff to manage. Sometimes, I travel to clients' homes for training, and sometimes, they board in their homes with me. This software makes it easy for small home-based businesses like mine to have options for running a big facility with inventory.

Avantages :

I love how easy the platform is for both my clients and me. I've got great feedback for booking being so easy. The BEST feature BusyPaws has that most others don't is 2-way Google calendar sync; believe me, I checked for this on multiple other pet software. It's a one-woman show around here, so if I schedule a doctor's appointment for my daughter, it saves me so much time that it will automatically block out that time from my schedule for clients to choose from. It's equally as fast to put new appointments in my calendar so I can see everything from the calendar app I was already using on my phone.

Inconvénients :

There is no dynamic pricing option for automatically adding a discount if someone is booking more than one dog. The add-on feature is a little tricky. Add-ons automatically get applied once per pet to the booking, so if you are trying to add something that a client might want more than one of, like this, it isn't possible. Another challenge with add-ons is if a client is booking two dogs for boarding but only wants one dog's nail trimmed, and it will automatically add it to both dogs. There is no way to choose quantity or dog for add-ons.

BEWARE: LMS (online course creator) is incredibly misrepresented.

Commentaires : My overall experience with the CMS was good. The software has a lot of functions that save time and help me stay organized.However, the misrepresentation of the LMS is so disappointing that I would not recommend Busy Paws.

Avantages :

I like being able to create templates and automatic messages based on an event. They offer document management, so I can send multiple docs with one click.

Inconvénients :

Busy Paws advertises that the Learning Management System is comparable to "Kajabi or Teachable, built for dog trainers." This is misleading and FALSE. The LMS is nothing like Kajabi or Teachable.If you plan to use the LMS, look elsewhere. Pricing for Busy Paw's CMS and LMS is equal to or greater than Acuity tiers with any LMS (Teachable, Kajabi, Ruzuku, LearnWorlds, etc.), but they do not offer the same feature list. Instead, they offer a bare-bones WYSIWYG without the ability to add templates or columns, in-line images, or any formatting aside from text. No embedding or ability to open links in a new window.No ability to resize images. Images size to fit, so they are huge and grainy. No assessment features, quizzes, or surveys.There is no way to track courses. 'Courses Completed' is not accurate. I have to log in to the client to see the progress.No landing page or ability to preview courses. I must build a page from the ground up to showcase my courses. Then maintain it.The client must go through the onboarding process to sign up for a course. While the Client Management System features are great, the Learning Management System is seriously lacking and should not even be called an LMS.

Excellent Product

Commentaires : Outstanding. It is the best solution out there and I spent years researching and had my own custom code prior to using Busy Paws.

Avantages :

Well thought out and created and managed by people who are dog trainers.

Inconvénients :

There are some functions that I would like to have but they are not available. I would like to have more control over who has access to what and also booking ideally would default to the person who is logged in but I am VERY happy overall!

Commentaires : I am very happy with my investment in BusyPaws. Once you get past loading and setting up all your packages and lessons, this software pays for itself by saving you so much time and money on multiple software subscriptions. Unlike other competitors that charge a lot more, BusyPaws' monthly subscription and affordable rates made it possible for my small training business to switch. I highly recommend BusyPaws for any small business looking to grow!

Avantages :

What I appreciated the most about BusyPaws is that their customer service is always willing to jump in when the chatbot is having problems answering your questions! I also love that they provide a very affordable monthly subscription.

Inconvénients :

The process of organizing my training sessions and packages. Although BusyPaws software is primarily intended for kennels and groomers, as a trainer, it took me some time to figure out how to utilize it for my business. However, the customer service has been incredibly helpful in assisting with troubleshooting!

Commentaires : My experience was and continues to be a good one. I am happy I found them early for my business and also early in their start as I have been a proud Busy Paws member since they were small, unique and wonderful. (Did I mention patient??) They remain wonderful, kind and patient as they grow.

Avantages :

the depth of the product and the thoughtful updates, and I have to stress the strength of their support for even the most repetitive and mundane questions.

Inconvénients :

The depth of the product..Ha ha. Meaning only that I love the depth and had to concentrate to learn how to navigate it, mostly because I wasn't as tech savvy as I imagined I was (key [sensitive content hidden] and then me doing a cartwheel with an awesome landing...). Most people who helped me got it quickly as I know you will! It's me, not you.

Busypaws Is A Trainers Best Friend

Commentaires : I’ve been a client for almost five years and the fact that I haven’t changed providers is proof that it works well for me.

Avantages :

Busypaws has everything I need for my business. Internal forms, easy online booking and reminders for my clients

Inconvénients :

No option to ask for reviews or to limit how many bookings can be entered daily unless you change the hours manually.

Commentaires : Overall I'm happy with Busypaws. It has a lot of great things. I"d rather have one system than cobble together multiple solitions to solve for administrative needs.

Avantages :

I love that I have a centralized system to manage all my administrative needs. Helps keep my schedule and clients organized.

Inconvénients :

There are some features that could be expanded upon such as the editor for courses and emails. There is some customization but not for website integrations so you do have to live with their button colors.

Good product - slightly complex for a computer illiterate user

Commentaires : It's been mainly really good. They've offered me a lot of 1:1 support and the articles describing processes are really clearly laid out and are easy to follow.

Avantages :

Once it gets working, it works well. I found it a little complicated to set up more complex things, like a series of puppy classes and needed support with that. I'm pretty sure, however, that this is due to my own lack of knowledge about computers generally.

Inconvénients :

I find these kind of computer programmes difficult to set up.

Organization for Busy Dog Trainer

Commentaires : Very good! Their customer service has always been amazing and they have spent a lot of time with me fixing things or helping me understand how to set up services.

Avantages :

I like that I can coordinate and schedule open-enrollment classes. This is especially important for my puppy classes so that people can sign up as soon as their puppy's are ready. BusyPaws keeps all my client emails and pet information in one secure place so I have been able to eliminate a lot of paperwork! I'm also very happy that BusyPaws how has the ability to sell products (and their different tax rates) this is great because it eliminated my need for a different invoicing software and I can now keep everything in BusyPaws and easily add on products such as treats, or toys for my students.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes there is a bit of a learning curve to new things and also periodically I will notice that attachments are not sending properly to my training students.

Commentaires : Overall the customization is great- just a bit complicated but the fact that someone is always ready to jump in to help us or that there are write ups and video tutorials on pretty much every topic it’s usually just a (pretty big) learning curve and when we’re struggling things always get resolved.

Avantages :

Online client booking has changed everything for us and with the multiple options available can be quite customized for whatever you need. The customer service is incredible and no matter how silly we think our questions are they never make us feel silly for having asked. This is a big deal because we are all comfortable asking for help whereas other software in the past has not felt quite so inviting in this regard.

Inconvénients :

Due to all of the options it’s also a little complicated and doesn’t always feel “user friendly” HOWEVER they are ALWAYS quick to jump in via zoom or email or chat to help us and their chat AI is generally super accurate and works well when humans are offline so it’s very possible to figure things out on your own as they have tutorial videos AND write ups on almost everything you could think of.Also the fact that we have to use Stripe is annoying. We’ve used Square for almost a decade and having to switch to something else has increased our bookkeeping and it’s very frustrating to pull up reports as Square is so much more easy and has so many more easy to find reports. Stripe is a daily pain in the butt for us and I wish we could swap that option for what we are familiar with and is more aligned with what we need.

- user friendly - always improving or adding new features that make it easier to do everything we need - amazing and fast customer support - highly customizable

Inconvénients :

- it's got a lot of features so getting started can be a big learnign curve - sometimes it's hard to get things set the way we want to, but Busy Paws is always great about help and taking suggestions to improve. Our business is complex and it does work very well for most of what we need and is always getting better! - Still some improvements to be made for improving user friendly flow for customers, but it's always getting better.

Wish I was happier with it!

Commentaires : We were very disappointed that we could not get BusyPaws to work for us. We tried. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] tried. The amount of time spent on: "...if we could make this do this..." or "...let's try using their series format for our puppy training ..." nope! how about this way or that way .... try this try that .... after working in BusyPaws, with it and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] , it just was not a good fit . It seemed easy during the trial, so we signed up knowing we had full tech support. We paid the annual subscription of $900+ to find out 2 months in, it will not fit our needs. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] will not refund unused subscriptions. Their team is patient and knows their own software program. We struggled to make it work. Then the glitches started. That was when I called it quits. Asked to cancel and get a refund for unused months. Our account was not cancelled back in July, and today (end of September) another email blast went out to our client list of "reminders of services in September and October" for appointments never made. I don't know why this is happening. These appointments were not made by us or our clients. Yet when [SENSITIVE CONTENT] looked in to it, he sees that these were made on our end. But they were not. We have not used BP since June/July for anything. Somewhere this software has like a backdoor that is glitchy and making so much extra work on our end. For this reason, I cannot recommend it to other small businesses. But I wish I could because they are nice people, who work hard.

Avantages :

Integration with Google contacts is helpful to get client base moved over to BusyPaws. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] did his very best to help us with glitches and trying to make it all work. You can save money by buying the annual subscription. But if things go wrong, you cannot get your money back if you decide to cancel your subscription - like we had to do. We just could not get this software program to work with our agendas. Too bad really, as it is a lovely Canadian company.

Inconvénients :

Could not easily have one account for a client with more than one dog. Could not easily book more than one service at a time for one client on one day . Unable to colour code anything. Could not choose our own time of day - must use their 15 minute increments from drop-down menu. We had email blasts go out unknowingly to our entire client base. We were told the glitch was something from "our end" (our fault) for multiple clients receiving the same "reminder" for appointments that were never booked, for months in advance! Maybe it was our error, but tech support to make it stop the first time would have helped the same glitch re-occurring THREE times! The second time this happened was so frustrating, our key staff member resigned - couldn't handle the stress of dozens of clients calling in the error in their account. BP Calendar can not keep up with our revolving schedule and multiple programs. Their "credits" for payment was very menacing.

The BEST booking software

Commentaires : I love everything about this software. It looks great. My clients have the option of booking appointments themselves. Canceling the appointments via the client portal. Intake forms are generated and available for them to sign prior to their appointments. If I ever have an issue or made a mistake the Team at BusyPaws are available to me. I actually can talk to them and they’ve always been able to resolve my problems. They answer questions in a timely manner and take suggestions regarding improvements that can be made. I have recommended this software to other dog grooming professionals in the industry. It’s so much better then other platforms.

Avantages :

This software is extremely useful, easy to use and full of features.

Inconvénients :

The only con I had and will be implemented soon is the option for clients to add a tip at checkout.

Amazing customer service with a solid product

Commentaires : Their customer service is top notch and it seems like they are continuing to develop their product. I save a lot of time and can have all my business needs met in 1 place vs. paying for and sending clients to different softwares.

Avantages :

This product is pretty intuitive and they have helpful article detailing the set up process. Their payment process for clients is the easiest I have used yet. I love that they allow actual signatures so you can set up contracts too.

Inconvénients :

There are some features that don't work ideally for my company, such as not being able to set different time frames in availability. I can only set one chunk of hours per day.

Commentaires : I’m pretty happy with it! The free trial was long to enough to really get a feel for how to run it, how to set it up, how to send emails and contracts! Honestly, it was the easiest system I’ve tried to use and once I started using it, I was drawn in!

Avantages :

I love how simple it is! I’m not very tech savvy, but this site make its look like I got my stuff together and know what I’m doing all the time! Directions are easy plus all the extra information given just in case you still have questions!

Inconvénients :

I just wish there was an app. I don’t own a computer or laptop or even a tablet. Everything I do is on the go and on my phone! Having access to a app the set up for mobile use would make this 10000% more worth it to me.

Great System for Dog Trainers

Commentaires : So far it’s been fantastic! I my took me 4 days, a few hours each day, to setup (I didn’t do the easy info transfer, just started fork the ground up to learn the system). It’s very easy to setup, with some small exceptions BUT busypaws also does great with explaining/having pages to explain how to create everything. I love it so much that I made the jump from PocketSuite! I looked and demo-ed other systems. BusyPaws is by far the most bang for my buck.

Avantages :

Ease of set up; lead tracking and ease of transitioning to official client status; ability to create video courses!!!! (Honestly my favorite part); digital contracts; ability to create my own report card template; SOOO many more great features!

Inconvénients :

It has no app. Would strongly prefer an app, or a more mobile friendly site. But the features totally make up for it!!

Commentaires : So far my overall experience with BusyPaws has been great. I looked into a couple other companies that run similar software and by far BusyPaws had the most straightforward set up and best features for the most reasonable price.

Avantages :

I signed up for the free trial with BusyPaws to see about switching to a scheduling system that was better suited for pet professionals. It's difficult to choose what I like most about it. Easy scheduling was my biggest concern, but the fact that clients can sign contracts easily on the website, upload vaccine records, and communicate with my trainer and I is fantastic.

Inconvénients :

I wish there was an app to make dealing with everything easier on my mobile device.

Commentaires : Overall it's been good. The learning curve has been a little tough, but the customer service has been top tier!

Avantages :

I like that it is a software that integrates with other services we use such as mail chimp. I like the way the client portals look, it doesn't look dated and is fresh and clean, very appealing to the eyes. I like that I can host courses right on the service vs having to pay for another subscription to do so. The option to add reminders and documents is really helpful as well.

Inconvénients :

I found that the learning curve was a little steep, but once I got the hang of it, it's pretty straightforward. I would love to see a way for series classes to be a little bit easier to set up. Setting a start and end date vs having to add individual steps and select their date for each one. This is pretty time-consuming.

Initial Thoughts on Busy Paws Set Up & Purchase

Commentaires : I have had a great experience so far. The 30 day free trial has been so valuable to take my time ensuring the software will work for my business, and I have gotten prompt responses from BusyPaws whenever I had a question or status update. We are wading through the set up and I'm so excited to launch for our customers!

Avantages :

I had trialled a couple management softwares and knew more or less exactly what I wanted. Busy Paws let me right into their software as a free trial to start exploring and playing around! This was a huge selling point for me as I was able to go through the features and functions at my own pace in between appointments and I didn't have to try to ask everything in a 30 minute zoom call demo.

Inconvénients :

I have read complaints from others about the difficulty with learning the software and getting set up. My team member and I are decently tech savvy and have found that the software is detailed and complex, but that it is reasonably straightforward to figure things out on our own between the helpful tutorials that are pinned to each page. It certainly is not as simple and user friendly as other software I viewed, but those did not do what I wanted them to and were not nearly customizable enough! I feel comfortable that if any bumps come up I will get a quick response by e-mail from BusyPaws.

Bang for your buck and easy to setup

Commentaires : Very impressed with how quick and easy it was to setup. Custom service was fantastic and easy to access help articles. While the software is geared more towards groomers and kennels, it didn't get in my way or cause unnecessary work.

Avantages :

Pricing in line with what I need and I'm not paying for things I won't be using. The help and support options are listed on every page and the details are fantastic. Making it very easy to learn your way around.

Inconvénients :

An app would be great. Nothing I really didn't like. More dog training specific options or categories might be nice. Website integration could be better. Mostly a cleaner look on the website. Smaller size. Unless I haven't found it, an option to pull up all completed forms would be great instead of looking at each client.

Lots of features for a lower price

Commentaires : It's pretty good! It's not as expensive and because of that I think it's great. They're constantly improving the product and I hope it becomes even better.

Avantages :

I love that I can have so many services and that I can search clients by their pet's names. It's easier for me to remember their dog! It's also way more affordable compared to competitors.

Inconvénients :

Some things are tedious like changing a blocked section in the calendar and I'm hoping their courses creation will become more robust. It's lacking in the ability to add in photos.

Commentaires : Excellent! The product just keeps getting better and the support team continues to exceed expectations.

Avantages :

The customer support provided by the BusyPaws Team is THE BEST we have ever experienced. They are responsive, quick to troubleshoot and offer solutions and seem to always be working to improve the product.

Inconvénients :

The integration with Quickbooks was a challenge for us and created some administrative challenges. More flexibility with reporting features BUT, you can easily export data to spreadsheets and manipulate it that way.
