Pretty solid product with a good reputation, but can be pricey

Commentaires : My overall experience with SendGrid has been positive. I appreciate its reliability, detailed analytics, and user-friendly interface. My only concerns are with pricing scalability and occasional customer support challenges, but the platform consistently delivers effective and impactful email campaigns.

Avantages :

SendGrids high deliverability rates, solid tracking metrics and easy to use interface make it a very attractive offering in a competitive space.

Inconvénients :

The pricing structure mean that scalability can be a concern, there are some sudden jumps in pricing. The step from 200k to 250k emails a month takes you from $89.95/mo to $249/mo which is a suddenly 3x cost increase, with similar 2x increases at the next intervals. Having unit-based pricing would be less stressful than suddenly crossing a threshold.

SendGrid is one of my favorite email platforms.

Commentaires : Sendgrid lives up to its reputation as a market leader for email. Be it marketing, authentication and transactional emails. It provides a plethora of options and functionality that meet most business needs.

Avantages :

The fact I use sendgrid for transactional emails says a lot. The api intergration is a breeze, as are all of its parameters available. The email monitor tools as well as the disposable email detection have proven particularly useful. Third party intergration is easy with the likes of Firebase, FaunaDB and node cloud functions.

Inconvénients :

There isn't any particular thing I have a disliking for in all honesty.

I stopped using and recommending this platform

Commentaires : In the beginning (some 8 years ago) when we started using it, it was actually good. Both pricing wise and everything else. Last time we used it (around 4 years ago) we stopped using because of what I mentioned

Avantages :

I do appreciate the fact that their documentation is fairly simple to understand and it's complete. Their options are also good and their system does work

Inconvénients :

The biggest problem and what made me and my customers using it, stop using, was the fact that they do not filter their IP addresses (even for PAID accounts as I was). The argument from their support at that time was that they cannot control what IP addresses the system associates to each customer and so they couldn't do anything about it. This was, at that time, very serious because we ALWAYS tried to keep a clean mailing list and we started to have bad reputation just because a bad IP address was suddenly associated to our sendings. Price compared to other suppliers for similar functionalities (such as Amazon SES) is also not as good.

Great transactional email platform, very decent for email marketing

Commentaires : By far is the best tool we've used for transactional emails, and the last couple years it has done a good job for email marketing. They have very strict policies against cold email, which keeps deliverability high.

Avantages :

It is very easy to use and deploy. The API is very well documented and the email marketing features can easily be used by non-developers without writing a single line of code. They have a very nice no-code email builder, but it also allows to do it in HTML for more technically inclined users.

Inconvénients :

Though it is a great platform for transactional email, the Email Marketing tools are charged extra. SendGrid is only really good if you get a dedicated IP, which is absent for the cheaper tiers.

Sendgrid is a great tool for program driven emails.

I admire SendGrid for its seamless setup process, allowing even novices to integrate sophisticated emailing capabilities into their applications swiftly. The clear and comprehensive documentation walks you through every step, and the intuitive API makes crafting and sending emails a breeze. Not to mention the extensive libraries in various languages, reducing development time and effort. Truly, its convenience and efficiency make it a preferred choice for developers looking to implement email services.

Inconvénients :

The support seems to be slow to respond at times and/or not very effective. Also delivery is not the best in the industry. but still very good.

SendGrid is straightforward and does what we need it to do for an affordable price.

Inconvénients :

SendGrid is not complex enough for out marketing email needs.

Fantastic solution for transactional emails

Avantages :

SendGrid is one of the best solutions for me in the transactional email service because it's easy to start using, the free version is generous and the more affordable paid version isn't bad.

Inconvénients :

I stopped using it simply because I found another even simpler solution, with lower prices and excellent support. Other than that I would continue to use it.

Sendgrid'e Email API has solved our problems in email campaigns

Commentaires : In addition to having their emails filtered as spam, sales representatives were unable to monitor their recipients' actions when sending them via their email client. Our problem was fixed via Sendgrid's email API.

Avantages :

Integrating with the email API is a breeze. When compared to other mass email service providers, we have seen that SendGrid consistently produces the highest interaction rates. The ability to automatically retry sent emails is a good bonus.

Inconvénients :

There is no consistency in the percentages of emails opened or clicked. There is currently no mechanism to block measurements that originate from email service provider bots.

Using SendGrid As An SMTP Service (Integrating With Other Software)

Commentaires : Overall we're really happy with SendGrid and have been using them for years now with no thought of moving or going back to our old method (which was just sending all of our emails over our regular SMTP details, which came with lots of drawbacks and undelivered emails).

Avantages :

We like how SendGrid provides us with a central platform which we can send emails to from our multiple other Platforms and have them all sent together from one Platform. It was also really useful for us to be able to purchase a Static IP Address just for ourselves, as this has increased both our reputation and the amount of our emails which are delivered now vs before we moved to SendGrid.

Inconvénients :

The initial setup, getting a Static IP Address and learning about the reporting features took a little bit of time to get used to, however this is probably to be expected with this type of product and it did not take us too long. We also had to "warm up" the new Static IP Address which we purchased, which meant sending some emails over a Shared Pool IP Address for so many days but, again, this is probably to be expected to help with reputation etc.

Integrated with Envision

Avantages :

I love the visual editor - it makes putting together email campaigns quite simple. Being able to edit both desktop and mobile independently is always a plus. I love that it integrates with our Salon booking system - Envision.

Inconvénients :

Current limitations placed on Envision/SendGrid integration is only 5000 emails per location. We would love to increase but were told we are not able to. Also, unable to view campaign statics with the integrated platform.

The definitive SMTP email sender

Avantages :

Sendgrid is fantastic, it is easy to setup, it works well, it sends emails securely and avoids spam filters, it allows for in-depth reporting and logs of emails on the rare occasion they need to be reviewed because an email has not been delivered.We recommend this for all of our eCommerce customers and use it ourselves, we couldn't be happier.

Inconvénients :

Previously it was hard to manage several customers under one login which was frustrating, but Sendgrid listened to the requests for this feature and implemented it a few years back, we are delighted with the product

Perfect for this B2C Beauty Business

Avantages :

We primarily utilize SendGrid to send SingleSend marketing emails and have been able to do so with great success. They make managing/segmenting your list easy to do. I love that they also offer automation, which is something we will be exploring more in the coming months. The A/B testing capabilities are also amazing.

Inconvénients :

So far, even after 2+years of using the platform, my only real complaint is I would like to be able to upload a fully embedded/clickable PDF into the platform and send. Right now that is not possible and it along with the elements, must be configured in the designer within the platform.

If you want your sanity, Stay away from Sendgrid!!

Commentaires : Zero customer service, I am currently migrating our emails off Sendgrid as we speak. 27 Hours of no communication on their support ticket that suspended our account. No reason was given. We send an average of 30,000 transaction emails per day, all of which are time sensitive (Receipts of payments, password resets, booking confirmations etc). Unforgivable behaviour.

Avantages :

Was working reasonably well for us for the last 5 years

Inconvénients :

After years of spending thousands of dollars a month we are suddenly and without warning, "temporarily" blocked from sending emails while the routinely check for spam activity.

Commentaires : The API is cost-effective due to its low operating expenses and lack of application development requirements. Even as a simple SMTP gateway, the API may execute a variety of tasks. These comprise distribution results and bounce information, which enable proper operation. The original enables MTA SaaS services. It is used to display messages from the service provider and to notify the public of impending announcements. It is difficult to function with an original nowadays since it could be utilized as a spam pass-through by hostile third parties. It can, however, operate safely if suitable security measures and patches are implemented on a regular basis. Using the SendGrid service liberates business owners from tasks over which they have no control.

Avantages :

An wonderful platform, particularly for novices. It provides free trial packages for life, 100 emails every day, and an SMTP feature that can be linked with a program. Emails can be recorded and Follow Up can be done, as well as accurate analyses through development. There are numerous benefits, and it is easy to create an HTML form to place on a landing page or your website to enroll individuals in a mailing list for a charge.

Inconvénients :

Haven't really thought about anything negative with this.

Automating and Emailing as much as we can

Commentaires : Love the API, so easy to use and implement across platforms.

Avantages :

The API is so easy to use and implement. The dashboards and statistics is a great addition which makes our jobs easier and cuts down costs.

Inconvénients :

I wish there was a plan between FREE and BASIC. I pretty much need to send around 200-300 emails a day. Free is 100 Emails per day, and the basic plan is 1000 email per day. If there was something @ half the cost to send 300 emails a day that would be perfect!

Commentaires : Ovberall we are happy with Sendgrid - it does exactly what it advertises it should do.

Avantages :

It's really easy to set up campaigns and schedule them ahead of time. Then you can just forget about them until you need to check the statistics.

No downsides to using Sendgrid thus far.

No brainer tool for email reliant organisations

Commentaires : While it has minor problems, on the overall, we are super reliant on emails for our business and Sendgrid has been a trustworthy tool.

Avantages :

Easy to understand and operate. In other words, adaptability. Oh, great customer support team too by the way!

Crashes quiet frequently. Contact edit details doesn't get saved in one go.
